Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated: 18 September 2026

Scope of the Policy and the Products or Services It Covers

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of digital resources, courses, and related materials offered by breakstoryp through its website. These include structured media workflow guides, editorial preparation templates, studio segment planning tools, camera setup instructions, and timely news format production resources. The policy covers both one-time purchases and any subscription-based access to the Course A story production resource focused on timely news formats. It does not extend to third-party services or physical goods.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Any Additional Charges

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing UK rate. No hidden charges apply for standard digital delivery. Customers outside the United Kingdom may be subject to local import duties or taxes upon purchase, though breakstoryp does not collect these. Any currency conversion fees charged by the customer’s payment provider remain the customer’s responsibility.

Accepted Payment Methods, Payment Authorisation, and Payment Security

Payments are accepted via major credit and debit cards through a secure third-party processor compliant with PCI DSS standards. Authorisation occurs at the point of purchase. breakstoryp does not store card details. All transactions are encrypted using industry-standard protocols to protect customer data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Order, Booking, or Service Confirmation and When a Contract Is Formed

A contract is formed upon successful payment authorisation and issuance of a confirmation email containing access details. Customers receive immediate access to digital resources upon completion of the transaction. The confirmation email outlines the specific resources purchased and any applicable terms.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Cancellation Periods

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, customers in the United Kingdom generally have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel. However, because the resources consist of digital content, cancellation rights are limited once download or access has begun, as explained in the section on digital content below.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items or Services

Refunds are available only where the customer has not accessed or downloaded the digital resources and notifies breakstoryp within the statutory period. Resources that have been accessed, partially used, or downloaded are non-refundable. Promotional or discounted purchases may carry additional exclusions clearly stated at the time of sale.

The Step-by-Step Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund

To request a refund, customers must submit a written request via the contact form on the Contacts page, providing their order number, email address associated with the purchase, and a brief explanation. Requests should be made before any access occurs. breakstoryp will acknowledge receipt within five working days.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification of the Refund Decision

Each request is reviewed against the eligibility criteria. Customers receive notification of approval or rejection within ten working days. Rejected requests include a clear explanation and information on any available alternatives, such as account credit where appropriate.

Refund Method, Processing Time, and When Funds Should Reach the Customer

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing typically takes five to ten working days, after which funds appear on the customer’s statement within an additional three to five working days depending on the card issuer.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services, or Promotional Offers Where Relevant

Because the Course A story production resource is digital content, the 14-day cancellation right ends immediately upon access or download. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Promotional offers are subject to the same digital content rules and are non-refundable once accessed.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud

Failed payments must be resolved within seven days to maintain access. Duplicate charges are investigated and refunded automatically where verified. Chargebacks are treated as refund requests and may result in immediate account suspension pending resolution. Suspected fraudulent activity leads to account review and possible reporting to relevant UK authorities.

Mandatory Consumer Rights in the Target Country That the Policy Cannot Exclude

This policy does not affect any rights consumers have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, or UK GDPR. Customers retain the right to remedies for faulty digital content and the ability to seek redress through the courts or alternative dispute resolution schemes operating in the United Kingdom.
